Olympic Inspiration: Reaching Your Potential

Do the Olympics have you feeling inspired? These driven, determined, strong, and amazing athletes sacrifice so much and overcome an unbelievable amount of obstacles to become the best in the WORLD at their sport. They push themselves past all limits and have expectations for themselves far beyond what any of us could imagine. I don’t know about you, but I get goose bumps every time I watch an USA athlete win Gold and hear the National Anthem play as the American flag is raised.

I was able to get a small taste of what this might be like through my short 3-year Bobsled Career for Team USA. I never competed in the Olympics, but I had the opportunity to represent USA and compete in several North American Cup races, European Cup races, and even a couple World Cup races. I trained at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, NY alongside several Olympic Medalists. I was able to witness first hand what it takes to be the very best.

One thing I experienced myself and observed about every athlete training at this level is that they have a whole team supporting them. Nobody gets there by himself or herself. They have strength & conditioning coaches, athletic trainers, dieticians, psychologists, chiropractors, massage therapists, doctors, mentors, and so much more to help them compete at the world-class level. There is truly a team behind every team.

As I have transitioned into my career in Workplace Wellness, I provide my clients with their very own support team to help them win their version of an Olympic Gold Medal and be the best in their world. You see, no matter what career path you have chosen (much like no matter what sport an athlete is competing in), to be the best that you can be, you have to first be in good physical shape. Megan Hill is a Certified Exercise Physiologist and the founder of A Stronger Workplace, LLC. She has her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Auburn University in Health Promotion. She was also a member of the Auburn Gymnastics Team and Auburn Track & Field Team before becoming a member of the US Women’s Bobsled Team. Megan founded A Stronger Workplace in 2014 and now uses her education combined with her athletic experience to educate and motivate other’s to live healthy lifestyles.
