3 Reasons Why Your Health Should Take Priority
Think about the last time you were sick in bed – were you able to get much work done? Were you able to care for your family? Were you able to make a positive impact on somebody? Probably not – and if you were able to, chances are you weren’t able to at the best of your ability. Sure, many illnesses and diseases are unavoidable – but there are so many illnesses and diseases that can be prevented through daily lifestyle choices. Here are three reasons to make Health your priority.
- Increased productivity. Most people have no idea how good their bodies are designed to feel. As a culture, we’ve been sedentary and have “fueled” our bodies with garbage for so long that it has become the new normal. We’ve compensated the tired and sluggish feeling with sugary energy drinks creating a vicious cycle. Well, I’ve got some good news.. you don’t have to feel this way!! If you start exercising and fueling your body with real (not processed) food, you will be amazed at how good your body feels! You will be much more productive due to a natural increase in energy. Try it.. I dare you!
- Decreased risk factors for major diseases and illness. Everything you put into your body is either working with your body to run properly (fruits, veggies, and natural whole food), or it is working against your body causing inflammation and excess fat (processed, fried, and added sugar to foods). This adds up over time. If you are constantly putting foods into your body that work against it, you will be feeding diseases and illnesses such as Cardiovascular Disease and Type II Diabetes. This goes for exercise as well. A sedentary lifestyle contributes to a number of diseases. Our bodies are not designed to sit all day. Make sure you get up often if you have a desk job and prioritize your exercise!
- Your Family. A lot of people let their own health suffer in order to take care of family members and their kids. If you think about it, you are actually doing more harm than good if you let your own health take the back seat. If put your health first you will be more productive and better able to serve them. If you have kids, you will be setting a positive example and teaching them life tools towards success. If anything, make health your priority for your family.
No matter what your purpose is in this world, you will be better able to fulfill it if you put your health first. It starts with your every day choices. Don’t put it off any longer – make healthy changes now.
